ICC Consultation Enhances Member Communications July 2, 2008 One of the overarching goals of the Israel on Campus Coalition is to enhance communication among member organizations, so it was only fitting that the ICC’s Spring Consultation, held in Washington, DC, on June 12, 2008 was filled with opportunities for attendees to discuss the 2007-08 academic year.

Examining the “Distancing” of Youth from Israel July 2, 2008 The web-based conference about the “Distancing of Young Jewry from Israel” – sponsored by the World Council of Jewish Communal Service – examined Israel engagement models that work best for different age groups (including our work with today’s college students), and participants from around the world had the opportunity to pose questions as well.

NY Jewish Week: Going Universal On The Green July 2, 2008 The trend toward new avenues of activism mirrors Hillel’s declared mission to make its reach more universal, engaging students as liaisons and hiring Jewish educators who will reach out in less formal ways to more Jewish students on campus.

Grinspoon Israel Advocacy Interns Spearhead Initiatives on 38 Campuses July 2, 2008 Originally created in 2002, the Grinspoon Israel Advocacy Internship is an outstanding opportunity for student leaders to have a profound impact on their campus communities. Grinspoon Interns develop and implement a creative, ongoing, strategic, collaborative and impactful long-term initiative, within one of the Internship’s issue areas, that is designed to change campus Israel culture tangibly.

The Chosen: A lecture by Avi Beker in Washington, DC May 20, 2008 The Embassy of Israel is hosting "The Chosen", a lecture by Avi Beker. The lecture is about what it means for Jews to be "chosen" and how this label is perceived by non-Jews.

Israel @ 60: Kosha Dillz and Shai 360 Concert at Cal State University, Northbridge May 17, 2008 Kosha Dillz is a young hip hop rapper who references his Jewish Heritage throughout his music. Shai 360 is an Israeli rap artist and DJ.

Executive Director's Note May 16, 2008 This month the Israel on Campus Coalition published the inaugural issue of what will be a regular (every four to six weeks) ICC newsletter, containing news from our collaborative work on campuses across the country.

Hasbara Presents: Israel 360 at UC San Diego May 14, 2008 Israel 360 is designed to engage students who know little about Israel by highlighting exciting components of Israeli history, geography, and culture.

Israel @ 60: Birthday Cake for Israel at UMD - Baltimore County May 8, 2008 As part of Israel @ 60 celebration at University of Maryland - Baltimore County, there will be an Israeli flag and birthday cake handout on May 8th. Information about Israel will be handed out during lunch hour at the student center.

ICC Awards Israel Advocacy Grants to Students for Exemplary Israel @ 60 Initiatives May 7, 2008 Now in its sixth year, the ICC Israel Advocacy Grant program is one of the most impactful campus Israel advocacy initiatives in the country. The ICC Israel Advocacy Grant program attracts creative, influential pro-Israel student leaders who develop bottom-up, grassroots initiatives that address the Israel needs of their campus strategically and in real time.

ICC Traveling Israel Scholars Visit 17 Campuses May 7, 2008 The ICC Traveling Israel Scholars Program got off to an excellent start in the spring, with scholars traveling on 13 different trips to 17 campuses around the country.
