Grinspoon-Morningstar Internships enable students to create meaningful, innovative, high-quality Israel programs and initiatives for their communities.  Students who pursue this internship opportunity have all kinds of backgrounds and levels of experience.  They are united by a determination to be leaders in Israel advocacy.

Baruch College-Alisa Rudy

Alisa Rudy is a sophomore Journalism major at Baruch College. Alisa is the head of marketing for Youth Organization for Israel (YOFI), the pro-Israel group at Baruch.



Brooklyn College-Melanie Goldberg

Melanie Goldberg is a senior Journalism and TV/Radio major with a minor in Marketing at Brooklyn College. She is in the Brooklyn College Presidential Scholars Program, serves as a Hasbara Fellow and is the advisor to the JLIC Orthodox Club on campus.



Cal State-Long Beach-Candice Lebowitz

Candice Lebowitz is a junior Psychology major at Cal State-Long Beach.  She is an active member in her local Hillel and the community service club on campus (called Petra).  She recently returned from Birthright and looks forward to sharing her love of Israel with her peers.



Clark University-Laina Pauker

Laina Pauker is a sophomore at Clark University. She is the founder and co-president of Clarkies Helping and Advocating for Israel (CHAI); the pro-Israel group at Clark University. Laina helps run the printmaking studio on campus and is interested in international development and psychology as well as the arts.



Drexel University-Shani Weiss

Shani Weiss is a fourth year Business major at Drexel University.  Two years ago she founded Drexel’s first and only pro-Israel student organization; Dragons for Israel.  This past year Shani accepted the CAMERA Bar-Illan “Most Outstanding Campus Activism” Award on behalf of the group.  Shani is also secretary of her local Hillel and a Drexel Student Ambassador.  



Florida Atlantic University-Elana Kashti

Elana Kashti is a junior double major in Holocaust & Judaic Studies and Accounting with a double minor in Business Law and Women’s Studies at Florida Atlantic University. She studied abroad at the University of Tel Aviv and is active in both the Jewish Federation and her local Hillel. In addition, Elana serves as a house representative on Student Government, is a sister of Delta Phi Epsilon sorority and has served on National PanHellenic Conference as both a vice president of recruitment and a vice president of communications.



Florida State University-Katie Lazarus

Katie Lazarus is a sophomore Business Marketing major with a minor in Spanish and a certificate in Leadership Studies at Florida State University. She is currently vice president of Noles for Israel, the pro-Israel group at FSU and the workshop chair for SOAR (Student Organization Advisory and Resource).



The George Washington University-Emily Seckel

Emily Seckel is a senior Accounting major and Economics minor at the George Washington University. Last year she was the president of the main Israel group on campus, GW Student Alliance for Israel and will sit on the board this year in a mentoring position.



Indiana University-Amanda Phillips

Amanda Phillips is a sophomore Jewish Studies major at Indiana University. She is the vice president of Israel Programming at her local Hillel and was also was the liaison for Hoosiers for Israel and led the group in producing Indiana University’s celebration of Israel; Israelpalooza.  



Johns Hopkins University- Rebecca Rubenstein

Rebecca Rubenstein is a senior Cognitive Science major at John Hopkins University.  Rebecca is a 2nd year Intern and president of C.H.A.I (Coalition of Hopkins Activists for Israel) the pro-Israel group at Hopkins. She is a member of a co-ed community service fraternity and has travelled to Israel several times.



Loyola Marymount University-Adam Bucci

Adam Bucci is a sophomore Political Science major and Theater minor at Loyola Marymount University.  He is the president of his school’s Challah for Hunger chapter and a proud member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.



Michigan State University-Coby Shecter

Coby Shecter is a senior Kinesiology major at Michigan State University. He is an active member on the Team Israel Programming Committee and his local Hillel. Coby also works at the Wharton Center for Performing Arts as a ticketing representative on campus.



New York University-Aliza Ben-Arie

Aliza Ben-Arie is a senior Media and Israel Studies major in the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University. She has constructed an area of study focusing on the development and evolution of the Israeli-Arab narrative in both Middle Eastern and American media. Aliza is the President Emeritus of Gesher: Israel @ NYU; the pro-Israel group at NYU and is an active member of her local Hillel.



Northwestern University-Galya Loeb

Galya Loeb is a senior Theatre major at Northwestern University. She is a proud member of the Purple Crayon Players and is the special events co-coordinator for Northwestern’s Theatre for Young Audiences student theatre board.



The Ohio State University-Solly Poprish

Solly Poprish is a sophomore in the Marketing, Media and Communications Scholars program at The Ohio State University. She is a mentor for freshmen students and an active member of the Ohio State Mountaineering Club, with which she travels and participates in outdoor activities.



Portland State University-Amy Albertson

Amy Albertson is a senior Graphic Design major at Portland State University. She is vice president of the Jewish Student Union and a founding member and co-president of With Israel, the pro-Israel group on campus.



Queens College-Talya Adler

Talya Adler is a sophomore Psychology major at Queens College. She is an event coordinator and serves on the art and cultures committee at her local Hillel.



Rutgers University-Alex Zeldin

Alex Zeldin is a senior Political Science major with a minor in Russian at Rutgers University. He is the Israel chair at Rutgers Hillel and social media chair at Rutgers Jewish Experience. Alex is working on marketing campaigns to bring Jewish students together in a welcoming environment dedicated to Jewish learning and to advocating on behalf of Israel and her supporters at Rutgers University.



San Diego State University-Mor Frankle

Mor Frankle is a senior Finance major at San Diego State University. She is the President of Aztecs for Israel, the pro-Israel group on campus, and will be serving on Student Government as a representative of the Business College.



Stanford University-Josh Grinberg

Josh Grinberg is a sophomore Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering major at Stanford University. He is the website developer for the Stanford Israel Alliance, the pro-Israel group on campus, and he helps plan and execute various Israel-related events on campus.



UC-Berkeley-Ilana Grines

Ilana Grines is a senior Psychology major at UC-Berkeley. She is active in Tikvah Students for Israel, the pro-Israel group on campus and is a research assistant to the Cultural Psychology Lab.



UC-Davis-Josh Gelfat

Josh Gelfat is a sophomore American Studies major and Community and Regional Development and Jewish Studies minor at UC-Davis. He is the publicity and public relations chair of Aggies for Israel, the pro-Israel group on campus and is the director of City & County Affairs for Student Government at UC-Davis.



UC-Irvine-Shawhin Beroukhim

Shawhin Beroukhim is a junior Biology major with a minor in English at UC-Irvine. He is the outreach director for Anteaters for Israel, the pro-Israel group on campus, vice president of the local Chabad and is a brother of Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. Shawhin has been to Israel three times and volunteered for the IDF for three weeks.



UC-San Diego-Elia Ganon

Elia Ganon is a sophomore Psychology major with a minor in Business at UC-San Diego. She is the vice president of Culture for Tritons for Israel, the pro-Israel group on campus. Elia is also a sales leader at the Associated Student clothing store on campus where they sell student designed merchandise.



UCLA-Leah Paz

Leah Paz is a senior Political Science major with a minor in Hebrew and Jewish Studies.at UCLA. She went on Birthright last winter and is now an active member of Bruins for Israel (BFI), the pro-Israel group on campus. Leah is also the internal president for GlobeMed, a global health non-profit on campus. Last year she organized a fundraising event that BFI and GlobeMed co-hosted.



UC-Santa Barbara-Michelle Zaks

Michelle Zaks is a senior Psychology major and Applied Psychology minor at UC-Santa Barbara. She is the vice president of Publicity for American Students for Israel; the pro-Israel group on campus, serves as a Hasbara Fellow and works as a research assistant for the Attention Lab in the Psychology Department.



UC-Santa Cruz-Karin Gold

Karin Gold is a fourth year Psychology major at UC- Santa Cruz. She is the art director and production manager of the Leviathan Jewish Journal, the longest running student publication on campus. Karen is also a Koret Intern at her local Hillel in which she is in charge of Shabbat dinners and Israel programs.



UMBC-Eli Eisenberg

Eli Eisenberg is a senior Biochemical Engineering at UMBC. He is the co-founder and president of Students for Israel at UMBC, the pro-Israel group on campus. He is also an intern for his local Hillel and upon graduating college, he hopes to go to graduate school for Biomedical Engineering in Israel and serve in the Israeli Defense Forces.



Union College-Maggie Weinreb

Maggie Weinreb is a senior interdepartmental major in Math and Psychology at Union College. She is president of her local Hillel and is an active sister of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Maggie has traveled to Israel four times to tour and visit with family. She is also an active member of KOACH and led the Israel component of the KOACH Kallah in 2012. 



University of Central Florida-Dave Freedman

Dave Freedman is a senior Communications major with a minor in Entrepreneurship at the University of Central Florida. He is the Vice-President of Students for Israel at UCF, the pro-Israel group on campus and is the brotherhood chair for Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity.



University of Colorado-Tzvi Darling

Tzvi Darling is a senior Theater and Jewish Studies major at the University of Colorado. He made Aliyah three years ago to serve in the Israeli Defense Forces and will be returning to campus in the fall to finish his degree. Tzvi is a brother of Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity and has been very involved with Taglit-Birthright, his local Chabad and the Hebrew Club.



University of Delaware-Ally Turkheimer

Ally Turkheimer is a senior Organizational and Community Leadership major at the University of Delaware.  She is a co-president of Israel U; the pro-Israel group on campus and is very active in her local Hillel. Ally spent a considerable amount of time participating and staffing various programs in Israel during high school and throughout her college career including participating in Nativ’s college leadership program in Israel where she studied at Hebrew University. 



University of Florida-Taylor Parker

Taylor Parker is a junior Political Campaigning, Women’s Studies and International Development major at the University of Florida. She was a founding member of Zionist Gators, a former senator in Student Government and a David Project campus fellow. Taylor is the vice president of Gators for Israel, the pro-Israel group on campus and she recently returned from AIPAC’s Campus Allies Mission Trip to Israel.



University of Georgia-Sarah Kalfon

Sarah Kalfon is a senior International Business and Marketing major with a double minor in Spanish and French at the University of Georgia. She is the co-president of Dawgs for Israel, the pro-Israel group on campus, serves as a French tutor in the university’s tutoring department and has been to Israel eight times.



University of Illinois-Lauryn Aber

Lauryn Aber is a junior Speech and Hearing Sciences major at the University of Illinois. She is a graduate of the Maimonides program and an active member of her local Hillel. After high school, Lauryn spent a year abroad in Israel at Bar-Ilan University. She recently returned from a summer advocacy program in Israel.



University of Miami-Kelsey Flitter

Kelsey Flitter is a sophomore Latin American Studies major at the University of Miami. She is a member of the I-Team, a program designed to get freshmen involved with Israel advocacy. Kelsey is also the Jewish chair of JAM (Jews and Muslims) a coexistence group on campus.



University of Minnesota-Ilan Sinelnikov

Ilan Sinelnikov is a sophomore Kinesiology major with a minor in Sports Management. He is the co-founder and president of Students Supporting Israel at the University of Minnesota, the pro-Israel group on campus. Ilan was born in Israel and lived there until he was 16 years old.



University of Oklahoma-Debra Goss

Debra Goss is a sophomore Elementary Education major with a minor in Judaic Studies at the University of Oklahoma. She is the Israel chair at her local Hillel and was the communications vice president on the Regional Executive Board of the United Synagogue Youth group for the Southwest Region. Debra attended NATIV 2010-2011 and studied at Hebrew University during the fall semester of 2010.



University of Oregon-Becky Constantine

Becky Constantine is a junior Business Marketing major with a minor in Communications at the University of Oregon. She is the president of Oregon Hillel and a sister of Kappa Delta sorority.



University of Texas-Kayla Sokoloff

Kayla Sokoloff is a sophomore Liberal Arts major at the University of Texas. She is active in the local Hillel and Texans for Israel, the pro-Israel group on campus. During the summer Kayla worked at Hillel International as a summer conference intern.



University of Wisconsin-Zac Pestine

Zac Pestine is a senior Philosophy and Communication Arts major at the University of Wisconsin.  He serves on the Social Justice Committee of MADPAC, the pro-Israel group on campus and is an active brother of Zeta Beta Tau fraternity.  Zac has traveled to Israel three times and participated in a semester-long study abroad program at Hebrew University.



UNLV-Ari Boris

Ari Boris is a senior Accounting and Entrepreneurship major at UNLV. He serves as the Jewish Identity and Israel Activism chair at his local Hillel and is a brother of Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity.



Virginia Commonwealth-Marc Kaplan

Marc Kaplan is a fourth year Advertising and Urban Planning major at Virginia Commonwealth University. He is the president of his local Hillel, vice president of his Alpha Epsilon Pi chapter and last year he served as the Israel chair for his local Hillel.



Virginia Tech-Alexa Lewis

Alexa Lewis is a senior Psychology major at Virginia Tech. She serves as the secretary of the Pre-Veterinary club at Virginia Tech and is active in her local Hillel.
