The American Jewish Congress was established in 1918 by the renowned Stephen Wise, in response to Jewish suffering after WWI and today is one of our nation's most prestigious and powerful Jewish defense and policy advocacy agencies. Perhaps best known for its role in defending Constitutional protections against the state establishment of religion, it is sometimes referred to as the "Attorney General of the Jewish People."
With over 50,000 members nationwide and offices in New York, Washington, Jerusalem as well as eight regions in the United States, it is an effective voice in defending Jewish interests both here and worldwide.

Our Council for World JewryAn alliance between the AJCongress and Jewish leaders and organizations who serve as advocates on behalf of their communities to fight against anti-Semitism. Already we have alliance with the Russian Jewish Congress and the Union des Patrons Juifs de France.
The American Jewish Congress Legal Services ProgramAssisting in the war on terrorism. AJCongress is challenging through legal methods the Title VI program of the Department of Education, assisting in changes to the Geneva Convention regarding terrorists involving new legal standards in international law and working with legal experts to change U.S. law to make it easier for individuals to sue and collect damages from terrorists, terrorist organizations and countries that harbor or sponsor terrorists or terrorism.
Our enhanced speakers bureau and program
Bringing high-profile pro-Israel and pro-administration speakers to university and college campuses. It helps pro-Israel student groups develop alliances with other student organizations to promote education and understanding of the Arab-Israeli dispute.
AJCongress has also developed useful materials such as: pamphlets, brochures, posters, fliers and other materials needed to effectively promote a pro-Israel message among students.
