Alternative Break
JNF-USA alternative break is for college students and young adults ages 18-24 who are looking for experience volunteering and getting their hands dirty while making a difference for the land and people of Israel!
Trip Dates: May 19 – 26, 2025
The deadline to apply is March 17.
Below are a few of the highlights from the December trip:
- We volunteered and learned about the Bedouin project Wadi Attir.
- We cooked for soldiers with Osi Le at her home kitchen in Ofakim. Osi is a caterer and opens up her home to volunteers to help her prepare and provide meals for hundreds of soldiers.
- We celebrated Hanukkah with soldiers and sang with Soldiers in Uniform.
- We participated in Adi Negev’s Third Race for Inclusion.
It is SO easy to register – fill out the application here. What a great way to kick off summer break! Participants raise $2,200 for JNF projects in Israel. If a participant is a member of SSI, they will receive $1,600 toward their fundraiser. AMSHI alums receive $400 toward their fundraisers. The registration fee is nonrefundable – but is credited to the student’s fundraising page. Once the student registers, we connect them with our travel agent, who books their EL AL flight. They receive a travel stipend of $1,800 toward the flight cost, and they choose their travel dates – giving flexibility and the opportunity to spend more time in Israel if they want.
