Amir Avivi is the Founder and CEO of the Habithonistim Movement (Protectors of Israel). Avivi concluded his service as the Head of the Auditing and Consulting Department of the Israeli Defense Establishment\, (including the Israel Defense Force\, the Ministry of Defense and Israeli Military Industries). In that position\, Avivi managed more than 100 military auditors and advisors. He was responsible for the audit of military readiness\, budgeting\, procurement\, projects\, bids\, cyber\, logistics\, infrastructure and operations. Avivi fulfilled various command positions in the Corps of Engineers leading thousands of soldiers in a dynamic combat environment.\nAvivi served as Brigade commander\, Deputy Division commander and head of the Military School of Engineers. He also served as the aide-de-camp for the Chief of the General Staff of the IDF\, Lt. General Moshe “Bogie” Yaalon. Avivi was at the heart of the policy making process in the Israeli Government and Defense establishment during that term.  Join SSI and Brigadier General (Ret.) DESCRIPTION:It has been twenty-six years since AMIA – the institutional heart of Argentine Jewry – was targeted in a devastating terrorist attack perpetrated by Iran’s proxy\, Hezbollah. \nSince the immediate aftermath of the attack and until the present day\, AJC has been calling for justice and accountability for the single deadliest antisemitic incident since the Second World War. Over the past several years\, after a turbulent investigative journey\, Argentina has laudably identified Iran as responsible for the attack\, designated all of Hezbollah as a terrorist organization\, and adopted the IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism\, with AJC’s active encouragement and support. \nToday\, despite the unprecedented difficulties surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and domestic challenges in Argentina\, President Alberto Fernández is strengthening ties with the United States\, with Israel\, and with the Jewish community in Argentina and around the world. \nJoin AJC for this historic conversation between President Fernández and Dina Siegel Vann\, Director of AJC’s Belfer Institute for Latino and Latin American Affairs\, to pay tribute to the 85 victims of the AMIA attack and raise our collective voices against terrorism and antisemitism in all its forms.

DESCRIPTION:Looking for a life‑changing experience this Fall? If you’re unsure whether your in‑person classes will resume next semester\, take a leap across the ocean for a meaningful\, inspiring adventure you are sure to remember for a lifetime on our inaugural gap semester program: Frontier Israel. \nDesigned by the expert educators at the Alexander Muss Institute for Israel Education (AMIIE-JNF)\, this program will provide a real life\, modern day pioneering experience for incoming freshmen and rising sophomores attending U.S. academic institutions. Frontier Israel will be comprised of two components: \nFRONTIERS \nMeaningful volunteer work in three enriching regions of Israel (Negev\, Galilee\, and Center) with JNF-USA affiliates. Volunteer opportunities include farming\, building hiking paths for the disabled\, working with refugees\, and more. \nSEMINARS \nEducational explorations designed to broaden horizons and build a student’s portfolio of experiences.
