Masa Israel – “Pop Culture revolutions and the Jews that created them”

Comic books, Graphic novels, Super heroes – these cultural phenomena were all created by Jewish persons throughout the 20th century. But – are they “Jewish”? In this lecture, Assaf Gamzou (Comics & Sacred texts. winner of “Best edited book in 2018” from the American popular culture association) examines these pop culture revolutions, and what we can learn from them about the American Jewish community, its wishes, beliefs and self perception.
