AJC – “Jewish Identity and the Future of Europe: A Conversation with Daniel Cohn-Bendit”

July 8, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am EDT

An exclusive conversation with Daniel Cohn-Bendit, the outspoken French-German former MEP
As the Coronavirus crisis unfolded, many questions arose on the capability of European leadership to deal with the many challenges that this unprecedented situation brought with it. Going from handling a unified response to dealing with the influence of outside powers, Europe’s foundations seem to have been somewhat shaken. As Germany just took over the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union on July 1st, Daniel Cohn-Bendit, Europe’s unique French-German political voice, will share his views on Europe’s most pressing issues – but not only…
When Daniel Cohn-Bendit, famous for his leading role in May 68th events, was expelled from France to Germany, his supporters shouted “We are all German Jews” in the streets – a slogan he is reusing today as the name of a documentary he just released. For the first time in his entire life, Daniel Cohn-Bendit publicly questions his own Jewish identity, to be discussed with him as well.

Please join us for this exceptional conversation between Simone Rodan-Benzaquen, AJC Europe Director and Daniel Cohn-Bendit, one of Europe’s finest observer who will share his analysis and personal experience of a lifetime engagement for the European ideal.
